Getting to capture a moment in time is a luxury. Knowing that I can take glamorous photos and videos that show emotion and influence my audience the same way is even more powerful. My work explores a variety of photography, including suburban, macro, leading lines, nature, perspective, minimalism, and portrait. My cinematography explores more of a comedy and horror genre. I am 21 years old and trying to push my photography and cinematography skills to the very best. 

I remember holding my first camera and after playing around with the settings, I began taking pictures. My passion grew for this hobby. I got a lot of influence from Hollywood movies and all the photographers, especially when I saw people downtown with their fancy cameras taking photos. As the years went on, I continued taking amateur photos and videos on my phone. Fast forward to 2017, I graduated from 8th grade and my parents got me my very first camera, I mostly used that camera to do vlogs for my YouTube channel, but then I began taking photos and uploading them on my Instagram. 

From that point on I realized I had a passion for photography and cinematography, and from there I continued to improve as I went on. I did some short cinematic videos from time to time and posted them on my channel and to my surprise, those were the videos that got more views than my other videos. People who commented on the video told me how great they were and that I should keep doing it. The same thing can be said about my photography, by the end of 2019 I bought my second camera, it was a Canon 77D and is the camera that I use and love the most to this day. 

I took more videos, more shorts, and more photos with it as time went on.

Then I started posting all of my photos onto Instagram where it started getting attention, knowing how to use Photoshop and editing my photos professionally definitely helped my pictures stand out. People in the comments said they loved my photos while others wanted to promote my photos on their page. I am proud of my work and ability to produce it well, and I am excited about what the future can bring.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

 Currently, I am a Senior at Columbia College in Chicago where I am taking the steps and knowledge to make my skills more advanced than ever. I am driven by so many things in life, there are so many inspirations for why I want to become a professional photographer and filmmaker. My family has supported me all this time to follow my dreams, never give up, and keep trying. I always see photographers having their fancy expensive cameras but just because I don't have one doesn't mean I can't express my work.
